ErrorsCold breath on my purple lips,
The sensation touches my ears’ tips
Echoes of dead roses in a fierce-some gloom
My sorrow follows me as though it’s in full bloom
The open air levitates my still form
The coldness shocking me like a magnetic storm
I lay lifeless, colder, stiller, than my skin an icy blue
Spread out as to catch this morning’s dew
The mist is like a comforting blanket
My head, stripped of innocence, a blank planchet
Waiting to be stamped by my failures
Rather than face my sneering errors
Can’t I stay here, to be kissed by memories?
Ladled out from the stagnant pool of the centuries
Soothing fingers stroke

ConquersHate conquers Joy
Love conquers hate
Shame conquers peace
Forgiveness conquers shame
Pride conquers love
Courage conquers pride
Despair conquers life
Hope conquers death

One, two, three …..ten.
The rain drops drip down from the sky
Heaven is a young woman’s soul
Tears are falling from her eyes
But the rain falls onto the earth
No hand is seen to wipe them dry.
One, two, three…ten.
The tear drops drip down from her eyes
Heaven is in the arms of the ones we love
I must reach for her and wipe them dry
The tears fall onto my face and chest
I am the earth and she is the sky
Who will wipe her tears every time they fall?

Ocean of TearsI'm just a grain of sand floating through an ocean of tears

Drifting along bitter black waves of agony and fear

Tempting the tempest in a cruel game called life and death

Wading through this darkness to find a place they call home

In which a moment lost could spell the end

In a cruel game of life or death

to stomach every lie

Wild Wind

Totally unexpected
Wholly unpredicted
Thrilling in its speed and strength
A sudden wind, like a cyclone,
Swept past my window today.
From the safety within, I watched it,
Sweeping and shaking the trees nearby.
The locals were expecting rain this evening
But not a drop did fall.
Nature is still so exciting--
Love our Mother well!

These past two nights,
The storms have been heavy and loud;
Thunder roared and echoed against my window,
Lightning lit the sky beyond.
I have taken comfort in my room.
A light late dinner, a glass of wine,
A glance over my shoulder towards my bed.
She turns_she sighs, and looks upward.

"Beloved!"

I put aside my work and hold her,
Tight.
The wind is high.
I still can hear her voice.
Outdoors, the air is wet and cold;
Our embrace is warm.
The wine makes me spin.

"Beloved!"
We kiss, deeply.

Homicide
Th’other night, about eleven o’clock,
The patrol saw something floating in the river.
They called the Marines to rent a boat,
The Marines sent one over.
The police boarded at the pier
And headed for the site.
The area was as silent as a tomb,
The moon was shining bright.
It illuminated what they saw.
They wished they had not seen.
‘T was the body of a teen-aged girl;
Her neck and joints were green.
They turned their boat around
And returned to the pier.
But the image of the girl’s corpse
Remained in their minds so clear.

Dark ShawlI see those eyes all sparkling clear,
Stare at me while I’m standing here.
Heart shaking, all wrapped in fear;
Looking down at concrete, glimpsing
Pretty nails and costly pedicure,
But who needs those to feel secure.
Just give me my black shawl,
So I can crawl
Behind the cloven alleys;
Watching, waiting,
For life I am indentured
To black, and being depraved
Of all the things that I’m not allowed,
In my world against the crowd.
So give me my darkened shawl,
I’ll hide behind, hoping to go by
Noiselessly, quietly
Behind a shadowed human wall.

LionessShe’s not a weakling
Nor a coward
No broken heart
Not even soured
She’s a Lioness
Sure footed, powerful
The Lioness

She walks as queen
Despite dismantled face
A mark unforeseen
Experience, commands respect
She’s a Lioness
Wild and free, says don’t mess with me

Nor a flower
Her stride, it’s a thriller
Like an action film
She’s a Lioness
Keeping you all on the tips of your toes

She looks out for the great and the small

Against Bullying
Rhythm and Blues

We live in a free country
We all have the right to choose
Nobody has the right to bully
Or make anyone sing the blues
You may be straight, you may be gay
You may be AC-DC
But you choose your way
It makes no difference to me
This is a free world
No matter, guy or girl
All the labels they use are only words
I won't make you sing the blues
For the partner that you choose
Doing that is just too absurd
Leave them alone
Look the other way
Or just go home

Mother NatureMother Nature

Mother Nature has a temper
Like my natal mother.
Calm and peaceful for a few days per week;
Then, electrifying the air round the house;
Then, the storm blows in.

We ran for cover wherever we could;
Once or twice I stood out.
CALM DOWN! I yelled, defiantly;
That only made the tempest more intense.
One late afternoon,
Before she died,
Mom saw a real streak of lightning.
It hot a tree in our yard.
Nature had finally left a warning--
DON'T TRY TO COMPETE WITH MOTHER NATURE.

Silent OppressionWhy do I constantly feel that you do not understand me?

You say you listen, but I doubt that.
If you did I wouldn't feel so depressed.

My words, my tone I feel I must alter to your liking.
My actions, my thoughts are constantly on guard that I should do nothing wrong.
I drown slowly inside bending to your needs, your wants.

And sometimes I feel so oppressed.
I sometimes feel so numb.
And sometimes I want to breakdown and scream.

Why?

It's because sometimes I feel that my thoughts, my words, my opinions do not matter.
It's because you have a way of making me fee

FearI don't always see the light I used to inspire.
I fear my touch and my words leave more to be desired.

Not only in the world's eyes has my shade darken
But I fear to you I maybe beyond broken.

I constantly feel like I can never give you enough
And in my mind I sometimes see you seeking it through others.

I've opened my heart, soul, mind and body to you and I'm told it's not my all.
If you expect perfection I'm always going to fall.

I told you in the beginning that I wasn't going to wait for you to be perfect
But sometimes I feel you hesitating and holding your breath for me.

You tell me that you love me and that you're forever only

InspireYour body amazes me
Your eyes, your lips, your shape
And warm shivers run down my spine
Each time I relish you are mine

When you're near my eyes can't help
But to scan every part of you
It isn't fair that there are times
I can't have you in full view

Your kiss, it drives me crazy
I'm always wanting more
No lips have ever touched mine
That can make such passions grow

Your touch alone can render me useless
For all the heat found there
You make me weak as I succumb
To the fire in me you inspire

Eternal LoveOur past
It may not be perfect
We've argued back and forth
But each time we find a way through
Our path is never finished

In darkness

A strength to carry each others burdens

Deep Within

I've taken what I've held within
And shoved my hand real deep
And pulled out what was inside
What I held so deep within me
It's black and hollow
And nothing can be heard from it
Even though it's screaming
No one's ears will it ever reach

It was thrashing, turning and pulling
On everything that held me together
Making everything it touched negative
And making me hard to be around
It killed my heart
It burned my soul
And threw it down a well
Because no one needs a heart or friends
When you have loneliness

Loneliness can create havoc in your life. When you feel that numbing feeling you try desperately to hold on to what you can. Sadly that just usually ends up pushing away who or what you're trying to hold on to.
